How do I pick up or return library materials?

Answer

SBCC students, staff, and faculty can pick up (or return) Chromebooks, wifi hotspots (when available)*, calculators, and requested print books when the library is open for face-to-face services.

*Wifi hotspots are currently available.

When

Library Open Hours (Summer I&II: May 16 - August 4, 2022):

Monday: 10am - 4pm

Tuesday: 10am - 4pm

Wednesday: 10am - 6pm

Thursday: 10am - 4pm

See the Hours and Maps page for additional information, including holiday closures.

Where

Please come inside the library building to check out materials. If you are not authorized to enter a building on campus due to vaccination status and/or COVID test result please call 805-730-4044 when you arrive and we will meet you outside at the front entrance of the Library.

How

Be sure to bring a photo ID and wear a mask. Wristbands are required to enter the building (get one at a campus check-in table after showing proof of vaccination, or exemption, and a negative COVID test result).

Social distancing measures and safety precautions will be taken with library pickup and returns. For curbside pickup/return, you are not required to check in and get a wristband, but you must wear a mask.

Print Books

Print books from the library's regular collection (not textbooks) must be requested in advance. See the instructions for Requesting a Book in OneSearch.

Please note: print textbooks may be borrowed for 3 hours at a time when the Library is open. For temporary online access to chapters from a textbook, use the eReserve Request Form to submit your request.

Computer Equipment

Chromebooks and wifi hotspots are available on a first come, first served basis (see the notice at the top of the library homepage for current availability).
